Folks have asked about handling of the iPhone in dirty field conditions, or when wearing gloves. I saw someone using a stylus on their iPad the other day, and decided to try one myself.
The stylus, made by Targus, is the size of a pen and has a rubber tip which works on any touch screen device. It allows you to do touch, tap and slide gestures, which is the way you would be using your finger to interact with the Pumper’s Friend software to enter data. That means that you don’t have to touch the screen with your fingers, if your hands are dirty, or take your gloves off to use the software.
The stylus can be clipped to the pocket like a pen, and it also has a hole in the top that allows it to be attached to a retractable key ring.
This Targus stylus is inexpensive at about $15, and similar products are more or less in cost. The product link is here: Targus Stylus.
