On March 23 I took the family up to the Frank Phillips ranch, wildlife preserve, and museum at Woolaroc, http://www.woolaroc.org/ in Osage County, Oklahoma, near Bartlesville. Along the way I stopped at several oil wells to take some pictures.
The picture on the left is the back porch of the Phillips ranch house. It overlooks the lake and campgrounds at the ranch. It’s a great place to visit if you are in the area. Oil industry history was made at Woolaroc.
Site 1
I stopped by this beautiful red pumpjack next to the road to take some pictures. As you can see, the property is very well maintained. This site had a 200 psi gauge (see picture) on the wellhead, that was one of the cleanest I’ve see so far.
The well also had a chemical barrel containing injection fluid (also pictured). The barrel had a simple sight level gauge that needs to be monitored by the pumper. The Pumper’s Friend software has a simple sight-level screen for recording such information.
Sites 2 & 3
I stopped briefly to photograph two other sites. As you can see from the photographs, both are running on gas powered engines. The Pumper’s Friend software can be used to monitor various gauges needed to monitor these wells, including strokes per minute.
