Digital Pressure Gauge

This gauge is from an explosion-proof pressure transducer. The reading is displayed by digits across the face of the gauge.

Many devices in the field display digits, and this shows how the iPhone can be used to record the data.

The technical name for this iPhone input device is a “picker.” It looks like the odometer in a car where the digits roll into place.

To input data, the user moves their finger over an individual column of numbers to “roll” the correct digit into place.

Pickers are used in many iPhone applications for inputing things like numbers and dates.

Thanks to Ken Oglesby of Impact Technologies for the image of the pressure transducer.
